Settling down into the term…

… with the uni students gone and all the groups starting back the term is well under way! Cell groups and running on Monday and Wednesday and Tuesday Youth is (after a change) in full flow. The Sunday mornings are as busy as ever and at Resolution a week ago on Sunday saw us all challenged by the ‘Letter to the Resolutions‘. We were challenged at where we are with God and how we are living for Him in the world today (have a read… if your up for being challenged!).

and with opportunities coming from all sides this looks to be a busy term and with lots of fun to be had.

Saturday Prayer – Coming home

The camp is taken down and packed into the lorry. Once again there is  a tight schedule to get off the site, so pray for participation, good spirits and safety.

Pray also for friendships to continue after camp, and for each person to know God better each day.

Latest update from Camp

Thursday morning

Gas man came late Tuesday and managed to fix ovens so they’re working! Hurrah! Weather very wet yesterday but spent most of the day at a swimming pool. Night hike last night was good, went without hitches. Camp finally up and running smoothly. Can’t believe there’s only 3 days left. Thanks hugely for all your prayers.

Update from Camp

Had sunny weather yesterday which helped dry everything out. Camp is like a swamp! Porta-loos arrived late yesterday and arrived to a cheer like I’m sure they’ve never heard before! Gas man came and tried to mend gas. Thought he’d mended one of them only to have it break during tea- which then took 5 hours to make the kids one sausage and a little bit of mash (all the potatoes boiled in the urn!!). That was a bit soul destroying but gas man coming again today and we’re planning a better contingency plan. Kids are having fun, leaders are more shattered than normal as working twice as hard but god is good. Thanks for all your prayers! Much appreciated.

Love Ali

Prayer request from the Campers

I’ve had a message from Youth Camp asking us to pray for a couple of issues.

Firstly, they have been having problems with the cookers. Please pray that these will be sorted so that the cooks can produce the food camp is famous for.

Secondly, the porta-loos did not turn up on Saturday. While the campers have access to other toilets this access is made worse by the weather they are experiencing at the moment. Please pray that they will be able to arrange for delivery today.

Sunday prayer requests

Friendships – All the campers are getting used to sharing tents,porta-loos and a new routine.
Pray for those who are feeling homesick to make good friends and enjoy camp.
pray for good relationships – there are plenty of opportunities to get to know each other sharing tents, in the team games and challenges and eating together.

Saturday prayer requests

Everyone arrives. Normally there is an advance party to set up camp, but it hasn’t been possible this year. There will be a lot to do in very little time! Pray for good team work, safety and for Ed Francis as he heads up the Equipment team.
